State Surplus Property
The State Surplus Warehouse is not open on a daily basis to the general public.
However, auctions to purchase surplus property by bid are open to the general public and held throughout the year. Upcoming auction
dates are listed below. Separate auctions are held
for personal property and vehicles. Property auctions are held on Wednesdays, with viewing of property available to the general public 2 days prior to the auction from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. each day. Vehicle auctions are held on Saturdays, with viewing of the vehicles available the day of the auction.
Personal or business checks will be accepted if accompanied by a bank letter which guarantees payment. For more information on purchasing State Surplus Property see our brochure
How Do I Purchase State of Illinois Surplus Personal Property?
Application Process
Local government and not-for-profit organizations who desire to
establish accounts to purchase surplus State property may do so
by completing the attached Application to Purchase and returning to the address below.
