IWIN is a wireless wide area data network using cellular digital
packet data (CDPD) technology to provide real-time, full duplex mobile
connectivity to its users. IWIN is a result of a unique partnership between
the State of Illinois, Ameritech Cellular and SCA, a Motorola company (SCA).
Under statutory obligation, CMS has designated the Division of Telecommunications to fulfill the requirement to "provide for and control the procurement, retention, installation and maintenance of telecommunication equipment or services used by State agencies in the interest of efficiency and economy."
