The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is the central procurement and administrative services agency for the State of Illinois. CMS works with client state agencies and members of the Illinois General Assembly to deliver critical services to Illinois taxpayers.

  • Directs the annual purchase of approximately $12 billion in goods and services for state government agencies.

  • Administers a fleet of 12,000 vehicles.

  • Manages approximately 60 million square feet of facilities owned or leased by the State.

  • Manages the State's information technology and telecommunications systems.

  • Serves as the personnel department for more than 57,000 employees and administers benefits for approximately 350,000 retirees, employees, and their dependents.

  • Conducts internal audits for state agencies.

  • Provides legal and public information services to all state agencies.
